The trainer
Our Forest School Leader Training is run by experienced leader and trainer, Adrian Goodhand. The course is accredited by the awarding body Qualifications Network UK. In addition, Adrian is registered with the Forest School Association, as a registered Trainer and as he is currently working to become an approved trainer.
The Course
Forest School Leader Training is essential for anyone wishing to lead Forest School in their own setting. It covers learning theory and practical skills, then gives participants the confidence with knowledge to establish and deliver their own Forest School programmes.
It covers a combination of practical skills (not limited to; tool use, fire lighting, campfire cooking, knot tying, identifying and using natural materials) and furthermore theoretical skills and knowledge (holistic development, self esteem theory, learning theory, learning through play etc.). There will be Information regarding how to set up a Forest School programme. And, of course looking at risk management and sustainable use of woodlands and habitats.
Our Forest School Leader training course is usually over 12 months for participants take on board the course learning. This will spread the coursework assignment load. Level 3 trainees receive 10 days of training. Participants are required to set up their own 6 session pilot Forest School programme. Additonally, submit a coursework portfolio within 12 months of starting the training. The course is described as 24 days worth of work – 10 days attending the training days and the rest is self directed learning with support throughout.

Please note; Trainees must attend all dates.
Cost £1100 includes registration, certification fees, a number of tools to start you on your journey and a visit during your pilot program.
